RentBuildingEquipUK was founded in 2012 by industry veterans Marcus Harding and Priya Singh, whose combined decades of site-management and mechanical-engineering expertise highlighted a glaring gap: builders and contractors often faced costly downtime waiting for or repairing equipment. Determined to deliver faster, hassle-free solutions, they launched a London depot with ten excavators and a couple of electric breakers. By 2015, customers’ demand for local tool sales led us to open a secondary workshop in Birmingham, expanding our rental fleet and adding an on-site service centre for routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
Today, we operate four regional depots—in London, Manchester, Glasgow, and Cardiff—stocking over 1,500 items: heavy-duty plant machinery, diesel-powered generators, crawler lifts, and power-tool assortments. Our in-house engineering team conducts 150-point safety inspections and pre-rental performance checks to uphold LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) and PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations) compliance. Digital telemetry on select machines provides real-time usage data and predictive maintenance alerts, minimising breakdowns.
